TakoYaki Party!
well...I thought today was going to be a lazy day with nothing going on. I mean, seriously, I did not want to get dressed or do anything.
SO I was just upstairs in my room trying to translate some manga (which is ridiculously time consuming) when Okaasan gets home from shopping. So I help her carry in the groceries and then we sit and talk for awhile which is nice. Then she says Naoto is making Takoyaki and ask me if I want to help. Of course I say yes!
So I help chop up and mix the stuff that makes the doughiness around the octopus and then Okaasan gets out the Takoyaki maker. Aparently Japanese love makers. Okaasan really wants a waffle maker so maybe I'll buy her one for christmas or something.
Anyway..step by step:
after mixing the doughy stuff...
get out all the supplies!
Then you put oil in each of the little cups...
Then you pour in the doughy stuff and put octopus in each one...
And then you le them cook for a while and then you turn them over with the little poker...
And thats how you make them!
And then you sit around eating them and making more and you laugh and talk and its great! Okaasan says Im pretty good at it and Im welcome to have a Takoyaki party with my friends. Otoosan even came home in time to join!
It was great fun...later we went grocery shopping too...it was good^.^
More pictures in the new "Takoyaki Party!" album on photobucket.
Sorry about some of the bluriness...I forgot that happens if I dont use flash inside...
oh and Okaasan always has Coke with TakoYaki...ALWAYs!
Peace!

Soooooo cool!
AHH! I was looking at facebook and decided to stop in and see how your "trip" (when it's a year long can you really call it a trip? it's more like a ...journey... or just another part of your life. anyways...) is going. It sounds like you're having a lot of fun, and that' FANTASTIC! And your host family couldn't be any cuter could they?! Good luck with your spaghetti, and take care!!
